Ineffable Open Dressage Schooling ShowDressage Schooling Show

is open to LSS riders as well as private horses!

Cost:
Members - $35 – First ride, $30 – add. rides
Private Horses   - $45 – First ride, $40 – add. rides

Divisions:
Ribbons will be awarded for the top 6 scores. No ribbons will be awarded in Division 10, although you will receive a scored test. For LSS Students:

Riders may sign up for as many Divisions as they wish, and may ride more than once in the same division, but not on the same horse, in that division.
Riders must be comfortable at the gaits required for the division, either walk/trot, or walk/trot/canter.

A horse list for this event will be posted in the office near the Friends corner in the back of the room.  Every effort will be made to accommodate your request for the horse of your choice, but you will need to pick a first, second and third choice.

If there is enough demand, practice sessions will be added.  You will pay the normal hacking rate for the horse you will ride in the show (it will be reserved for you) and then receive a group lesson on how to ride your dressage test.
The mounted practice session will be on a first come first serve basis for riders.

Each Dressage test is looking at the horse and rider combination and “testing” for different aspects of the partnership. As an example, USDF Introductory Level, Test 1 is designed for riders for new to dressage. It tests for a smooth transition from trot to walk, a medium walk (where the horse’s hind feet touch the ground in front of the footprints of the front feet), and a good stretch in the free walk. Training level tests are more involved and are designed to confirm the horse is supple and loose, accepting contact with the bit.

Volunteers are also needed, so if you are interested in helping out, please call and let Chuck know at 908-672-2806.

Registration will be by mail. Space permitting, entries will be taken after the closing date. The reason for the early registration is to assign horses so riders can practice with their test partners. Classes will be arranged based on the response to registration.
